The Social Network and others on DVD today

You and 500,000,000 other people like this.

It's Tuesday. So, that means we have a slew of DVD's coming our way. But, it also means that The Social Network goes live on shelves everywhere today. With two 2-Disc editions (one for poor people with regular DVD players and the other for all the rich folk who rattle their jewelry, on Blu-Ray). Special features on the discs are as follows -

Feature Commentaries with David Fincher, Aaron Sorkin, and the cast
"How Did They Ever Make a Movie of Facebook?" - feature length 'making of' doc in four parts
David Fincher and Jeff Cronenweth discuss the visuals of the film
Analysis of a Scene - "Ruby Skye VIP"
Trent Reznor's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" demo
Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and David Fincher on the film's score

It's the one to buy today, I think. And with the Blu-Ray edition, the already stunning cinematography will be reproduced in even more stunning clarity. I can't wait to see how much care was taken in the film's transfer.

Also on DVD today -

Piranha 3D - Alexandre Aja's playful and chilling entry into the Piranha canon where fish truly are the enemy. Special Features include extensive 'making of' docs, both 2D and 3D formats available, commentaries and deleted scenes, and a hell of a lot more.
Alpha and Omega - The Justin Long and Danny Glover computer animated dog movie that we didn't see. Special features include four 'making of' features, some interactive games, and trailer/deleted scene gallery. Gotta be worth it for the kids, though.
Heartbreaker (L'Arnacoeur) - A French film about a man who specializes in turning your husband/boyfriend/etc. into you ex. That is, of course, until he meets his formula match. None, that I can track down. Let me know if I'm wrong, yeah? I like being wrong sometimes.

Go pick up a movie. You've a long week ahead of you. You've earned it.
